Online learning is a new environment for many people, both educators and adult learners. We recognize that people may be hesitant to begin using the Internet as a way to learn, they may even be uncertain about their ability to use this new technology. That is why we use experiential learning to teach, so you learn by doing and increase your confidence and comfort with the medium as you progress through our learning programs..

nonprofitlearning.com’s approach to learning is built on years of development and successful adult Internet-based learning. We have already successfully trained hundreds of fundraising professionals, online. As long as you have access to a computer, email and the Internet, you have what ittakes to get start with eLearning.

nonprofitlearning.com courses are offering entirely online. Class participants use a regular web browser and email to access the course. A multimedia sound card and speakers are recommended, but not required.

Because of the potentially vast differences in bandwidth, web browsers and computer configurations of our students, we employ online learning tools accessible by those choosing to learn from home or the office, utilizing modems or broadband Internet connections or those utilizing dated browsers and operating systems or the latest technology. Our success lies in our unique mix of old, familiar media with some of the latest Internet services. Weeven use some reading from text printed on paper (but don’t worry there is a strong emphasis on Internet based adult learning and discovery).

nonprofitlearning.com’s online education model allows students to fit classwork into their own self-study schedules while at the same time participating in live online classes and small group projects that preserve the benefits of peer learning and “class spirit”.

Each class happens over a four week period, and is divided into four modules — one each week.

  • Each module contains reading materials and exercises, which can be done at self-paced rate according to each class participant’s schedule. The online materials include QuickQuizes, web tours and web presentations. Offline materials include articles, research reports and strategy papers.
  • Each week an online 1-hour class will be held where class participants meet in a chat room with a facilitator to discuss the week’s topic. The weekly class will be scheduled two times, once in the morning, and once in the afternoon to accomodate the schedules of as many participants as possible. A transcript of each online class will be recorded and posted for all participants to review and reference.
